Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of StorageRadar, the macOS storage analyzer distributed through the Mac App Store and as a Direct build.

Last updated: May 24, 2026
Plain-language summary

StorageRadar is sold as a perpetual license tied to your hardware. One license covers up to three simultaneously activated Macs. Direct purchases carry a 14-day refund window. These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, activating, or using StorageRadar, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

These terms apply to both the Mac App Store edition and the Direct edition of StorageRadar. Where a provision applies only to one edition, it is identified explicitly.

License grant

Subject to your compliance with these terms, StorageRadar grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the unlocked features of StorageRadar on Apple-branded computers that you own or control.

  • The license is perpetual, not a subscription. There is no recurring billing for the Direct edition.
  • A single license key may be simultaneously activated on up to three Macs that you personally use.
  • The license is intended for personal use or use within a small business that you operate.
  • License keys are personal and non-transferable. You may not sell, lease, sublicense, or assign your license to another party.

License activation and validation

Direct edition users activate their license by entering the license key in StorageRadar. The license key is verified by our licensing service at api.storageradar.app and bound to the hardware identifier of each Mac on which it is activated.

After activation, StorageRadar validates the license offline using an Ed25519 signature embedded in the license key. The app periodically re-validates the license against our server (approximately every 30 days) to confirm that the license is still active and has not been revoked.

If you need to move your license to a new Mac and you have reached the three-machine limit, contact support to release a slot.

Prohibited uses

You agree not to use StorageRadar in any of the following ways:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of StorageRadar, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of StorageRadar or its license key validation system.
  • Redistribute, resell, share, or sublicense your license key, the DMG installer, or the application binary.
  • Bypass, disable, or circumvent the license activation, validation, or any other technical protection measures.
  • Use StorageRadar to violate any applicable law, regulation, or the terms of macOS or the Mac App Store.
  • Operate StorageRadar as a managed service, hosted offering, or commercial proxy for third parties.

Updates and changes to the software

StorageRadar may release updates to the Direct edition through the Sparkle update mechanism, and to the Mac App Store edition through the Mac App Store. Updates may add, modify, or remove features, fix defects, or improve security.

We are not obligated to provide updates indefinitely. Major version upgrades may, at our discretion, be offered as separate paid releases; minor updates and patches for the licensed version remain free for the duration of that major version.

Disclaimer of warranties

StorageRadar is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

StorageRadar reviews destructive operations before applying them and surfaces blocked paths and permission gaps explicitly, but you remain responsible for the files you choose to delete. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect every situation in which an action could result in data loss.

We strongly recommend that you maintain current backups of your data before performing any cleanup operation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall StorageRadar, its operator, or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the software.

Our total cumulative liability under or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license during the twelve months preceding the claim. For users of the free tier, the maximum cumulative liability is zero.

Termination

You may stop using StorageRadar at any time. Within the 14-day refund window for Direct purchases, you may also request a full refund. See our refund policy for details.

We may suspend or terminate your license without refund if you materially breach these terms, including by redistributing your license key, attempting to bypass activation, or using the software in a way that violates applicable law.

On termination, your right to use the unlocked features of StorageRadar ends. You must uninstall the software if requested.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

StorageRadar is operated by a sole proprietor based in Thailand. The Mac App Store edition is distributed through Apple under Apple's own terms, which apply in addition to (and, where they conflict, take precedence over) these terms for App Store transactions.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of StorageRadar shall first be addressed through good-faith informal resolution by contacting support at the address below. If informal resolution fails, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction in Thailand.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, we will provide additional notice through the app or the website.

Your continued use of StorageRadar after a revised version of these terms takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using StorageRadar.
